Star Tribune names Thrivent Financial a ‘Top Workplace’
Thrivent Financial ranked in top 20 for two categories of employee-based survey
| MINNEAPOLIS (June 24, 2010) – In an employee-based survey conducted by the Star Tribune, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans ranked 11th among all large companies and eighth among private/nonprofit large companies in the Top 100 Workplaces survey published June 20.
Given to over 1,000 companies in the Twin Cities metro area and scored purely on employee survey results, Thrivent Financial’s success reflects a positive work environment, as 531 employees contributed. “I am so pleased that Thrivent Financial was honored with this recognition, especially because it came through the feedback of our employees,” said Jennifer Martin, senior vice president of Human Resources. “I believe that Thrivent Financial is a great place to work, and the Star Tribune survey validates and acknowledges what our employees experience here every day.” Thrivent Financial was particularly noted for excelling in three of the six workplace factors considered: Conditions, Managers, and Pay and Benefits. Thrivent Financial’s Employee Appreciation Events, emphasis on a healthy work/life balance and policies such as Volunteer Time Off contributed to the “Conditions” portion of the ranking. The “Managers” category was significant in Thrivent Financial’s success, as many employees reported positive feelings about their bosses. The third category Thrivent Financial excelled in was “Pay and Benefits.” Thrivent Financial’s benefits and compensation program is competitive with the market and includes an Annual Incentive Plan that has direct ties with positive business results. Top Workplaces recognizes the most progressive companies in the metro based on employee opinions about company leadership, career opportunities, workplace flexibility, compensation and benefits.
