The workshop features examples and photographs of members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans who used different financial tools to make charitable gifts. “Participants can relate to these stories,” said Nancy Verdier, Thrivent Financial program developer of the workshop. “The people in the presentation materials look and live just like them.” Verdier acknowledged the numerous people at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Lutheran Community Foundation who contributed to the winning workshop. “I’m grateful that the EIFLE Award judges affirmed all of the creativity, financial expertise and hard work that went into this cooperative effort,” said Verdier. “Also, in a time when we hear so much about greed, I appreciate this spotlight on our financial education workshop about helping others through charitable giving.” The Institute for Financial Literacy is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization whose mission is to make effective financial literacy education available for all American adults.
