Ward’s 50 Top Performing Insurance Companies recognizes Thrivent Financial
| MINNEAPOLIS (July 23, 2009) – Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has been included among the 2009 Ward’s 50 Top Performing Insurance Companies. The list was released July 9 by Ward Group, an operational consulting firm and provider of benchmarking services to the insurance industry.
Of more than 800 life-health insurance companies analyzed in the survey, Thrivent Financial was placed among the top 50. Each Ward’s 50 company passed all safety and consistency screens and achieved superior performance over the five-year period of analysis. Companies joining Thrivent Financial on the Ward’s 50 list include: Aetna Life Insurance Company, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, New York Life Insurance Company and USAA Life Insurance Company, among others. Ward Group evaluates company performance based on the following criteria: • Five-year average return on average equity • Five-year average return on average assets • Five-year average return on total revenue • Five-year growth in revenue • Five-year growth in surplus Thrivent Financial’s place on the Ward’s 50 list is the result of outstanding industry performance in several areas including: financial stability, revenue growth, capital and surplus positions and underwriting results.
