A chance to help others on the road to retirement
Thrivent Financial to hire more than 800 additional representatives in 2008
| MINNEAPOLIS (April 7, 2008) – Research shows that the majority of retirees are uncertain about spending in retirement. In fact, 55 percent of seniors are unsure of how much money they will need to last throughout retirement*.
To support the increasing demand by Americans for a financial road map for their retirement, Thrivent Financial plans on hiring more than 800 financial representatives by the end of 2008. Financial representatives serve Lutherans and their family members by providing financial guidance and solutions to help them achieve their financial goals. In 2007, Thrivent Financial hired 780 new full-time financial representatives, and has approximately 2,600 representatives nationwide. “We offer an excellent opportunity for competent professionals who are looking for a rewarding career,” said Jim Thomsen, Thrivent Financial’s executive vice president of field distribution. “Our representatives take a full-service approach to their client’s financial needs, helping them in various aspects of their financial life while helping out in their communities as well.” Thrivent Financial consistently maintains above industry-level retention rates for financial representatives, making it one of the strongest financial services career organizations (2006 LIMRA APS report). Many of Thrivent Financial’s representatives are drawn by the organization’s multimillion-dollar charitable giving and the ability to volunteer side by side with members from its nearly 1,400 volunteer chapters that do community service across the United States. The recruitment effort is part of Thrivent Financial’s commitment to further strengthen service to its current base of nearly 3 million members and expand more deeply into relationships with Lutherans and their families. The hiring campaign is a nationwide effort, with hiring being done locally through Thrivent Financial’s 28 regional financial offices (RFOs) across the country. New representatives will receive support from both the local RFO staff and corporate staff headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn., and Appleton, Wis.
